Accounts & Payroll Assistant Officer [closed]

Vitals Global Healthcare is looking to recruit a motivated individual to form part of its Finance and Accounts Team in Gozo. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer of VGH Gozo General Hospital, the successful candidate will be dealing with a wide range of accounting and payroll duties in the analysis, preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Performing day-to-day book-keeping tasks, including the update of accounting and payroll records, journal entries and accounts analysis
  • Maintaining the Creditor Ledger / Debtor Ledger, and related duties
  • Being responsible for the Petty Cash Imprest System
  • Computation of Accruals and Prepayments
  • Assisting with Month-End procedures and the compilation of Management Accounts
  • Carry out Bank Reconciliations
  • Compiling Cost Control Reports and overtime reports
  • Updating of Fixed Asset Register / Reconciliations and tagging of Fixed Assets
  • Assisting to all payroll and accounts related matters
  • Supervising and mentoring accounts clerks
  • Ensuring that payroll, accounting policies and procedures are implemented as required

 

The successful candidate shall:

  • Hold an Advanced level of education, with a grade C or better pass in Accounting, or AAT qualification or the equivalent
  • Have at least a minimum of one year relevant work experience
  • Be able to work independently with minimum supervision while being a good team player
  • Have sound knowledge of the local employment legislation
  • Be computer literate and conversant with Microsoft Office applications, mainly Excel, Outlook and Word
