Finance Manager – VGH Gozo General Hospital

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – VGH Gozo General Hospital, the Finance Manager is a key member of the Finance Management Team of the Hospital. It is a management position managing a team with cross-organisation responsibilities and partnering divisions across the Hospital.

The post holder will ensure that the organisational vision is translated into effective financial strategy, policy, procedures and systems. They will ensure risks are recognised and appropriate standards of governance and control are maintained.

In undertaking this role, the post holder will provide senior insight, intelligence, advice and management to deliver their responsibilities. They will also be expected to deliver management, supervision, direction delegation and support to their own team.

The post holder will facilitate on financial transformation work, identifying areas for development as part of the wider financial strategy, and managing teams in the delivery of complex projects to improve systems, processes and procedures.

The selected candidate should:

  • Qualified Accountant or recognised equivalent.
  • Educated to Masters Level or significant specialist experience.
  • A recognised management qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of managing change with proven ability to provide clear and justified explanations for change.
  • Proven ability and experience of demonstrating strong credible, professional management skills including the provision of clear direction, training, developing strategic goals and objectives, motivating and inspiring others to overcome obstacles of delivery, and providing a culture of empowerment, accountability and recognition.
