Occupational Therapist [closed]

Vitals Global Healthcare is recruiting Occupational Therapists on full-time basis to join VGH Karin Grech Hospital and VGH St Luke’s Hospital team.


The duties and responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist include:

  • Providing a clinical service as required by the particular Allied Health Profession.
  • Being able to manage and treat a diagnostically varied patient caseload and manage clinical and administrative responsibilities efficiently
  • Presenting clear, accurate and statistical data
  • Keeping up-to-date records and statistical data
  • Communicating and liaising effectively with other professionals, individuals and groups of patients, family/carers and other agencies as required
  • Assisting in the orientation of students and junior staff to the services of the ‘Allied Health Profession’
  • Helping with the supervision of students assigned to the unit for clinical exposure. When eligible the Allied Health Professional is expected to attend the fieldwork educator’s course
  • Participating in and attending in-service training sessions
  • Keeping updated on developments and trends in the ‘Allied Health Profession’ practice by studying of the current literature or by attending continuous professional development courses available and adapting work practices according to the latest evidence
  • Being familiar with all procedures relevant to safety and patient care as applicable to the service
  • Following the established departmental policies and procedures through the appropriate line of communication
  • Striving towards the highest degree of professional ethics and conduct
  • Performing any other duties which may be required by the Allied Health Professional in response to the exigencies of the service.


The successful candidate must:

  • Be registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Council for Professions Complementary to Medicine
  • Possess a B.Sc. (Hons) in Occupational Therapy or the equivalent
  • Be passionate about patients and about delivering patient care of the highest standards
  • Possess strong planning, organisational and analytical skills
  • Be a good communicator (verbal and written)
  • Be a strong team player and able to work on own initiative and without supervision
  • Have a flexible and can-do attitude


Whilst recent experience is a pre-requisite, new graduates or students who shall be graduating soon are encouraged to apply.  Training will be provided to the successful candidates.
