Our Partners

PHI was founded in 1997 to advance the Partners HealthCare mission worldwide through collaborations and partnerships designed to expand a global partner’s capacity to deliver high quality health care.

For over 20 years PHI has partnered with institutions and health care systems in over 40 countries to drive transformative, sustainable improvements in healthcare worldwide.

Partners was founded in 1994 by Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, the two oldest and largest teaching hospitals of Harvard Medical School, and includes community and specialty hospitals, a managed care organization, a physician network, community health centers, rehabilitation centers, home care and other health-care related entities. Partners’ five top-ranked hospitals comprise part of the health care system, and all are recognized by the 2016-2017 U.S. News and World Report. In November 2015 Partners HealthCare International® (PHI) a Boston, Massachusetts-based integrated academic healthcare system and Vitals Global Healthcare (VGH) formed a collaborative partnership to enhance healthcare services and clinical education in Malta. The project will focus on the development of clinical quality and patient safety standards, benchmarks and systems, and the development of structures and systems for Post Graduate medical education. The joint effort between PHI and VGH will also be coordinated with Barts School of Medicine and Dentistry, a preeminent medical school located in the United Kingdom that is opening its first off-shore campus in Malta.
